When a woman receives a report showing a low AMH level, she may be told:
that her time is running out
that her chances are now very limited
that her ovarian reserve is low
And suddenly…
a number can become a sentence.
It can change the way you look at your body.
It can frighten you.
It can make you feel that your future has already been decided.
The answer is much more complex.
The AMH – Anti-Müllerian Hormone – provides important information about ovarian physiology.
But… IT DOES NOT TELL THE WHOLE STORY OF YOUR FERTILITY.
AMH provides information about the number of available ovarian follicles, but
it does not, on its own, measure egg quality, and
it cannot, on its own, tell us the entire reproductive potential of a woman.
It is important information, but it is only one part of the story.
And for this reason, a low AMH does not automatically mean infertility.
The main guidelines on ovarian reserve highlight this very limitation:
ovarian reserve markers are useful for certain clinical decisions, particularly for predicting the response to ovarian stimulation,
but they are weak predictors of reproductive potential.
And above all… IT IS NOT YOUR WHOLE STORY.
When I look at a woman, I see much more than a laboratory value.
💚 Her age.
💚 Her menstrual history.
💚 Her physiology.
💚 Her sleep.
💚 Her nutrition.
💚 Her metabolism.
💚 Her gut.
💚 Her movement.
💚 Her perceived stress.
💚 Her habits.
💚 Her environment.
💚 Her personal history.
💚 Her family history.
💚 Her reproductive history.
Because the body is not a collection of separate numbers.
It is a system, and every element deserves to be observed within the context of the person.
I am a Midwife and have been working in the field of women’s health for over twenty years.
My work is rooted in my knowledge of female physiology, the experience I have gained over the years, and my observation of the woman as a whole.
When a woman comes to me with a low AMH, I look at the woman behind that number.
Her story.
Her physiology.
Her habits.
The way she lives.
Her body.
Her environment.
Everything that can help me understand how that person is living and functioning as a whole.
The aspects of her health that can be observed and supported within my professional scope.
Before our consultation, I will ask you for photographs of your tongue, face and abdomen, together with other information about your history.
This allows me to come to our meeting having already begun to observe the person in front of me.
The Tongue Protocol is one of the tools through which I build this observation.
The tongue is one part of the picture.
The face.
The abdomen.
The story.
Physiology.
Habits.
Everyday life.
Everything becomes part of the overall observation of the person.
My role is to:
🌙 Cycle.
🌙 Fertility.
🌙 Gut.
🌙 Sleep.
🌙 Energy.
🌙 Metabolism.
🌙 Movement.
🌙 Perceived stress.
🌙 Nutrition.
🌙 Environment.
🌙 Wellbeing.
I do not consider these as completely separate chapters.
I observe them within the person and within their physiological relationships.
For this reason, the pathway I build with you may include:
🌿 nutrition and meal organisation
🌿 sleep and daily rhythm
🌿 movement
🌿 breathing
🌿 management of perceived stress
🌿 bowel function
🌿 environment
🌿 daily habits
🌿 body awareness
🌿 wellbeing practices that are part of my method
Always in relation to your story and your individual needs.
For me, this is a fundamental distinction.
The AMH value belongs to the clinical pathway; my work focuses on the woman and her physiology.
🌙 I support the aspects of health that we can work on together.
🌙 I observe how the body is functioning as a whole.
🌙 I identify the aspects of everyday life that deserve attention.
🌙 I build a Personalised Health Protocol.
🌙 I accompany you in developing a deeper understanding of your body:
Because fertility is complex:
Age, reproductive history, ovarian reserve, egg quality, male factors and many other elements all contribute to the overall picture. And a low AMH, on its own, cannot write the ending of your story.
The first consultation is the beginning.
We continue to observe.
We compare the tongue photographs.
We gather new information.
We observe changes.
And, when necessary, we adapt the Protocol as you evolve.
Because the body is dynamic and the journey must evolve with you.
Throughout my more than twenty years of experience, I have met women with very different stories.
Women who arrived deeply frightened after seeing a particular result.
Women who had lost trust in their bodies.
Women who had begun to believe that a number had already decided their future.
And throughout these journeys, I have seen changes that have had enormous meaning for them.
Every woman is different. Every body is different. Every story is unique.
I believe in observation, personalisation, knowledge, time and accompaniment.
If you have received a result that frightened you, stop.
Breathe.
Read it for what it is: information Important.
Something to understand.
Something to place within the bigger picture.
But not the whole story of your body.
Perhaps the question to begin with is not:
But rather:
“What else can I understand about my physiology?”
And this may be where a different kind of journey can begin.
If you would like to understand your physiology more deeply and build a Personalised Health Protocol,
I would be happy to accompany you.
Together, we will begin with your story, the information you bring with you and what emerges from our observation.
Because behind that number there is a woman.
And that woman deserves to be seen as a whole.
